We are adjusting our testing schedule to better fit the needs of all our students. The new schedule will allow all classes to meet for a shortened time on testing days rather than having one class omitted entirely. We are working out the last of the details today and will publish new schedule tomorrow morning for Thursday tests.

Interim grades will be available in HAC by noon today. Tomorrow you should receive emails from teachers inviting you to virtual Parent Conferences next Wednesday. Spaces will be limited so sign up for those teachers you really need to speak with. We'll schedule 10 minute blocks throughout the afternoon of the 30th.

Revised testing bell schedule.

Schoology should be up and running now...have a great Friday!

Schoology is down this morning across the district. Please CK back periodically through the day. I’ll update as soon as I know more.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Friday, September 11th from 4:30pm - 6:30pm there will be basketball tryouts at the Sylvan Hills Middle School gym. We will start promptly at 4:30pm. Please wear basketball shorts, a t-shirt and bring basketball shoes to change into. You will need to bring something to drink and a current physical. Your ride must drop you off and pick you up on time.

PARENT ACCESS CODES FOR SCHOOLOGY
Advisory teachers began giving these codes out today. If you don't have yours by 10AM Wednesday, please contact that teacher.

EQUITY IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE
I am seeking 8-10 volunteers to be on this committee. We will meet at least twice this semester and once in the spring. We are always looking for ways to improve as a school and as a community partner and this committee looks at school through the parent/community lens. The chairperson will be required to attend an evening training with me later this month. Email me at mhudgeons@pcssd.org if interested.

Labor Day constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. https://www.dol.gov/general/laborday/history #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

Great news for our PCSSD families: we are now able to offer FREE meals thanks to a recent USDA waiver. That means our virtual, blended and traditional students can eat breakfast & lunch for free through Dec. 31! http://ow.ly/GmaQ50Bh7HE #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

PCSSD will be open for regular business hours tomorrow (Friday, Aug. 28). Schools will operate on their normal Friday schedule (which includes blended Group B students). Extended care and athletic activities will resume tomorrow as well. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

SHMS will run the same short day schedule tomorrow, Aug 27, that we ran today. Email me with any questions at mhudgeons@pcssd.org

Thursday football with Jacksonville is cancelled due to predicted bad weather.

Schoology Update:
The parent access feature is not turned on yet for Schoology. We are working to get all teachers and students up to speed before adding the parent access. We'll share more information next week. Thank you for your continued patience.

Central Arkansas is expected to feel the impact of Hurricane Laura tomorrow. Based on the most current weather updates, the heaviest impact is expected between 3-4pm. Therefore, PCSSD will dismiss school early on Thursday, August 27. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30am and Secondary schools will dismiss at 1:00pm. Dismissal times are for both car and bus riders. District offices will dismiss at 1pm as well. There will be no district athletics events on Thursday, August 27. No decision has been made about school or athletic activities for Friday at this time.

SCHOOLOGY UPDATE: Rachel Blackwell, Digital Learning Facilitator for PCSSD, offers another walk through of what Schoology looks like for students, starting with the log-in process to the student portal. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence
