CONWAY, Ark. -- The Mills University Studies High School Speech and Debate Team competed in the Conway Classy Classic Speech Tournament September 29th.
This was their first tournament of the year, and the team found individual success. Three scholars placed high enough to qualify for the Arkansas State Speech Championship in April:- Jon Brady Hicks - Public Forum Debate; Duet Improvisational Acting
- Jimiah Cooper - Duet Improvisational Acting
- Xavion Mclennan - Impromptu Speaking
Hicks was the champion speaker in Varsity Public Forum and also placed 4th in Duet Improvisational Acting with Jimiah Cooper. Xavion Mclennan made the top 12 in Impromptu Speaking.
