On Friday, Sept 27, Maumelle High School seniors and juniors got to experience the UAPB community. The UAPB Bus Tour brought the Chancellor/Vice-Chancellors, faculty, staff, and the band to perform and provide information about the university. The students spent 90 minutes with UAPB as they explored the informative booths and talked with current UAPB students. This was an amazing opportunity for our students! Thank you, UAPB! #gohornets

In honor of High School Voter Registration Week, Pulaski County Government hosted a voter registration drive at MAUMELLE HIGH. Thirty-seven Hornet Seniors (who will be 18 by Nov. 5) registered to fulfill their civic duty. Thanks to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and our Teen Court students for helping with the registration drive!

Ms. Robinson's and Ms. Overton's Life Skills classes combined to have a Hispanic Heritage Month Reading Day. Students orchestrated the event by introducing guest speakers and MCing the event. Mrs. Reynolds, Assistant Principal, read a bilingual story to the students and taught them about papel picado and several Latino authors. The students and teachers danced the Macarena and made walking tacos.

Theatre/Technical Theatre students from Maumelle High School attended "Sparking Dialogue Through Drama, AMFA presents Breaking the Box," at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. Elizabeth Eckford of the LIttle Rock Nine was in the audience. After the stunning performance, students participated in a Q&A with the Arkansas-based cast/crew and toured the facility.
Students got to visit Wilson Water Treatment Facility to learn how Water is pumped to the Facility and treated to make water safe for drinking. This is a great experience in the field for our students as part of the Academies of Maumelle High.
